Vintage MCM Bischoff Poinsettia Red Pitcher Blown Glass 1950-60s 3.5" T. This fabulous mid-century vintage Poinsettia Red hand blown pitcher with clear handle was made by Bischoff Glass. The Bischoff label is intact. Pontil on bottom. Measures 3 1/2" T x 6 1/2" W with handle, 5 1/4" w/o handle, 4 1/4" Base. 7"h x 3.5"d. Very good collectible condition. It has a small 1/8" surface scratch at the top of the handle and tiny light scuffs on base and fleabite on the rim of base. No chips, cracks or cloudiness. The Bischoff Glass company was located in Culloden, WV and was in operation from 1922 to 1963 before being sold. Bischoff produced unusual, even bizarre, original shapes in their art glass. Similar to design leaders like Blenko. Lancaster Colony, of Columbus, Ohio, purchased Bischoff in 1963, keeping the Bischoff name and molds. Blenko’s fifties designer Wayne Husted, joined Lancaster in that year to head its design and production department. Weight 1 lb. 9 oz.
