Carlton Fisk’s Home Run Baseballs Greatest Moments In 1975, The Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox squared off in the MLB World Series. On Tuesday, October 21, 1975, the Reds and Red Sox met at Fenway Park in Boston for Game Six. In one of the most dramatic moments in MLB history, Red Sox catcher Carlton Fisk launched a fly ball off Reds pitcher Pat Darcy that hit the left field foul pole for a solo home run, resulting in a 7-6 Red Sox victory which forced a Game Seven.
