Vintage Los Reyes Peru Hand Painted Llama Mate Cup Dipper Set Folk Art Pottery

​This delightful and collectible set of Peruvian folk art pottery, consisting of a cylindrical mate cup and a small, handled dipper/scoop, is an authentic piece of Andean craftsmanship. Hand-painted with the iconic black llama silhouette against a creamy white band, the pieces feature a rich, glossy reddish-brown glaze that is typical of traditional terra cotta. The bases of both pieces are hand-signed by the artisan.  ​The set is in good used condition with no chips or cracks. However, as an authentic, handmade vintage piece, it displays characteristics inherent to its age and production: ​The glaze on both pieces exhibits fine crazing. ​The white glaze band has a few rust-like spots bleeding through the color in places, which is natural for earthenware. ​The cup has a small, original white dot paint flaw under the clear glaze (see close-up photos). This set is a wonderful, display-ready way to bring a touch of global art and rustic, bohemian flair into any curio or kitchen.
