Vintage Little Red Riding Hood Cracker or Cookie Jar made by Hull Pottery 1943

This item is a vintage Little Red Riding Hood cracker or cookie jar made by Hull Pottery. The design patent for this line was issued to Louise Bauer in 1943, and production ran until around 1957. Details of the Jar Brand: A.E. Hull Pottery Co., often marked with "Hull Ware" on the bottom. (Not marked) Design: The jar is shaped like Little Red Riding Hood with blond hair peeking from under a red hood, rosy cheeks, and a gold kerchief. The lower portion, which serves as the container, is decorated with painted rose bouquets and a yellow crescent moon motif at the bottom. This whimsical piece features a bright red hooded cloak, a striped undershirt, and a detailed white apron adorned with red roses and a yellow basket motif. The base has decorative blue stripes and a crackled glaze finish with some yellowing in the cracks. There is a small paint chip on the edge of the red cloak, not a ceramic chip. And an interior ceramic chip on the lip bottom. There is crackling as expected for ceramic that is 85 years old.
