Vintage Lenox Porcelain Shell Shaped Trinket-Candy Dish USA 1980's Lovely made with scalloped design and gold trim. In nice condition with 2 nicks on the gold rim, last 2 Photos listed shows the close up and detail. Approx: 7" by 6 1/2" weighing 10oz. A Bit of History: Lenox's history in the U.S. began in 1889 when Walter Scott Lenox founded the company, initially as Lenox's Ceramic Art Company, in Trenton, New Jersey. The company initially focused on artware and later transitioned to producing dinnerware, becoming known for its quality and artistry. Lenox became a household name, its products even gracing the tables of the White House and being displayed in prestigious museums. The company evolved through acquisitions and changes in ownership, eventually being sold to Department 56 in 2005. Gold stamp was manufactured sometime between 1983 and 1999. The gold stamp on Lenox china was used after 1953.
