Vintage Lavender French Designer Coat

Jules Tournier is a French manufacturer of luxury wool fabrics for ready to wear and haute couture clients since 1865. The company's well-known fabric weaving talents can be seen in the multi-color stitching of this felted, mohair wool jacket; the fabric revealing hints of lilac, mustard, azure, and black. Hard to capture the beauty of these colors in photos. Gathered stitching at the shoulders and sleeves create a feminine balloon sleeve, complimenting the elegant A-line cut and mandarin collar. The jacket fastens with mauve buttons, has concealed side pockets and is fully lined with coordinating mauve satin. The label reads "Jules Tournier Made in France" in metallic thread on black and is finished with a little metal chain hanging loop. An additional ILGWU label (1974 to 1995) is located in a side seam. Research suggests this is most likely a late 1970s to early 1980s design. The jacket is in great to excellent vintage condition with an intact satin lining bearing only a couple small stains & 2 pinhead-sized holes (shown); exterior wool appears perfect. No size label found.
