Vintage Kugel style gold large size Christmas ball

This is a beautiful vintage Christmas ball; it is an unusual large size (the size of a grapefruit) - with a metal top; it is not marked with a maker; it is gold with some show of wear; see photos. I have been told that this size Christmas ball was only sold to department stores to decorate the large trees. 14 1/2" diameter.
