Pony 2 Kodak number 51
Kodak Anastar f/3.9 Lens
Pony II was made from 1957 until 1962. Obviously, these little cameras didn't have light meters, but they featured a high-quality 4 elements 44mm f 3.9 lens. Yet, it only used front element focusing and a single shutter speed. They were put on the market for the entry-level photographer. However, they were confusing for a beginner photographer, Kodak chooses to switch things up and use the settings in E(xposure) V(alues) instead of using f stops.
what?
"Since the shutter is a single speed rated at about 1/60, you can kind of translate EV values for this particular camera to:
EV 9.5 ~ f3.9(wide open), EV10 ~ f4, EV11 ~ f5.6, EV12 ~ f8, EV13 ~f11, EV14~f16 and EV15~f22," from a super helpful camera dude online.
It does take 35mm film, though!
Untested. It's in good shape, though. If I could find 35mm film, I would play with it. The view finder is tiny.
Wicked cool little forgotten camera of photography history. Look great on a Collector's shelf, or you could give a try!
Sold as is, comes with original box. Comes from a smoke-free, pet friendly home.
