This vintage salt and pepper shaker set was handcrafted by Kanawha Glass Company in Dunbar, West Virginia. The shakers feature classic hobnail milk glass accented with a soft blue slag swirl, a hallmark of Kanawha’s hand-applied glasswork. Because each piece was individually made, the blue swirl varies slightly between the two shakers, which is expected and desirable.
Both shakers retain their original Kanawha Glass foil labels on the bases, confirming authenticity. They are fitted with chrome-tone metal screw caps that thread securely and display light age-appropriate wear.
Mid-20th-century production, likely from the 1960s–1970s.
Approximate measurements:
• Height: 5 inches
• Diameter at widest point: 2.25 inches
Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks observed. Glass bodies are solid with clean, intact threaded openings. The threaded glass openings show slight hand-tooled variation and are not perfectly level, which is consistent with Kanawha Glass handcrafted production.
Metal lids show light surface wear consistent with age and normal use. Labels show partial wear, typical for vintage foil labels.
These are full-size shakers, not miniatures, and make an excellent addition to a vintage kitchen, mid-century table setting, or Kanawha Glass collection.
Carefully packed for safe shipping.
