This is a fun example of a vintage game, Teeko, it is an abstract strategy game, invented by John Scarne in 1937. This is the re-released form from 1952. TEEKO's quirky names is borrowed from Tic-Tac-Toe, Chess, Checkers and Bingo!
It is a board game of 25 spaces arranged in a 5x5 grid. 8 markers (4 red, 4 black). Object: have all 4 of your color markers in a straight line (vertical, horizontal, diagonal). Rules are simple, the strategy is complicated. It can be learned in a minute, mastered in a lifetime. Infinite entertainment.
For the child within, it makes a fun, decorative and collectible piece of mid-century pop culture.
