@royalsmomma hi! What are the measurements? Thank you

@annutka11 Okay, give me just a bit to measure it. It is a normal kimono size which is very long because they walk in wooden platform shoes. I will measure the length though. Are you wanting to know any other measurements other than length?

Gorgeous. As soon as someone actually buys something from me I’m shopping here!

@lmdig2018 it truly is gorgeous and wish I could keep it. Thank you for liking it!

@royalsmomma I bought and sold Kimono from Japan for many years through the Brooklyn Naval Yard. Shipping has become too expensive at this point. At one time I owned and sold and researched thousands. This is a mother of the bride or mother in law kimono. At three times, oddly enough used at funerals. Lol

@lmdig2018 interesting. I always envisioned it as a man's kimono. I don't know why. My mom has one also with less red, softer colors.

lmdig2018
@royalsmomma nope. The length of the sleeve tells the marital status. Shorter are for a married woman. Men’s kimono are usually plain black with a crest or sigil
Aug 01Reply

lmdig2018
The long sleeves are for an unmarried woman. Called Furisode The type of collar tells the “kind” of woman and occasion.

@royalsmomma I’m open to trades. I don’t know how it works but if you like anything of mine we can do that. Check out the Japanese dress I have after Kimono went out of fashion in the 50s it’s really little but it’s awesome.

I put it right up front for you. After 1940 japan opened their borders to the west and adopted American Clothing styles. That replaced the kimono

@lmdig2018 I unfortunately am not selling out of joy. I'm selling my favorite things because I have come upon hard times. I love your items but I need the money.

@royalsmomma I’m sorry. And I understand. I hope things go better for you soon. If someone would buy from me, I’ll come see you first!!! It will go to a good home hung on the wall and preserved, not worn. If you get in your feet later? We can trade back!

@stoned_hijabi standard measurements for women and girls kimono sizing. 😁

Measurement requests are.... 😳😖
Apr 28Reply

lmdig2018
@stoned_hijabi im a seamstress also. Ive dealt in these for years. The sizing is standard in most cases when mass manufactured and 80% of these are. Those made special and tailored to the individual aren’t touchable at this price point.
Apr 28Reply

lmdig2018
If you don’t like that site ? Google standard tomesode and furosode kimono measurements.
Apr 28Reply

lmdig2018
And measurement requests are frustrating because 99% of the time those who ask never buy and were never going to. 🤮
Apr 28Reply

lmdig2018
Uchikake of course, are longer.

@stoned_hijabi Im not trying to personalize my comments so you shouldn’t either. Im just knowledgable concerning kimono and i like the seller so I’m more trying to help her out. People use the Internet, and forget they’re using ... the internet. The answer to every question is ...on the internet. Sewing takes time, money and I purchased my mannequin from Amazon. Kimono are made larger than the frame they are intended for because they are made to tuck and fold.

lmdig2018
The European sizes are smaller than American, because the American standard is larger. generally don’t close correctly at the Hip if you’re curvy.
Apr 28Reply

lmdig2018
If you are straight up and down without large hips these sit as they were intended and when worn properly you’ll also require an Obi, a sash, and a cord. If you”re just going to run around with it open like a robe it doesn’t matter.
