Vintage Japanese Wagasa Parasol – Oil-Paper Bamboo Umbrella, Bullseye Decor

A vintage Japanese wagasa (traditional oil-paper parasol) featuring a bold bullseye concentric-ring pattern in rich earthy tones. Made with bamboo ribs, oil-coated washi paper, and a spiral-wrapped handle with a chrome endcap. Opens smoothly and locks into place for display. Likely produced in Gifu, Japan during the mid-20th century (1960s) using classic wagasa construction techniques intended for decorative or light theatrical use. Shows expected vintage character: light paper crinkling, a few small edge tears (see photos), and mild tackiness from the aged oil finish — all typical for genuine oil-paper parasols.
