Vintage Japanese Miniature 4-Panel Folding Screen Tabletop Byōbu Art | Mt. Fuji

A classic piece of decorative art, this tabletop byōbu tells a story across its panels, making it a captivating display item for any shelf, desk, or mantel. The screen features a continuous narrative scene reminiscent of traditional ukiyo-e woodblock prints, set against a shimmering gold-toned background. The artwork beautifully captures a journey through the seasons in Japan: Panel 1 (Left): A serene winter scene with lush green bamboo covered in snow, symbolizing resilience. Panels 2 & 3: A procession of figures, some on horseback and one under a red umbrella, travels through the landscape with the iconic, snow-capped Mount Fuji rising in the distance. Panel 4 (Right): A stunning, gnarled plum tree in full red blossom—a sign of early spring and perseverance—is set against stylized waves. Total Unfolded Size: Approx. 13.75 inches wide x just under 9 inches tall. One of the brass-colored corner brackets is missing from a top corner (see detailed picture). The back of the screen is solid gray and clean, with one small imperfection noted in the photos.
