Vintage Japanese Freshwater Rice Pearl Necklace

This gorgeous seed pearl necklace has the most luminous and lovely pearls with a 14K gold bamboo theme clasp. New old stock, these pearls were purchased in Tokyo in 1983 (at Nakai Jeweler in the Hotel Okura Luxury Hotel) and never worn. They are in pristine condition and in the original silk envelope which is included in your purchase. Small blemishes (see last photo) on the inside of the silk envelope are the only condition issues. Not visible from the outside of the envelope. 31 inches and 5 strands of Rice or Seed Pearls. With clasp necklace is almost 32 inches. These are high quality pearls with luminosity that includes subtle pink and green tones. I think the photo of the pearls against the white show the colors best. The 32 inch length is perfect for doubling up, wearing long and knotting or just wearing long. Very chic, seed pearls are a perfect contemporary twist on the more formal round pearl.
