Vintage Japanese Creative Kokeshi Doll by Master Sansaku Sekiguchi Chubby Red

Beautiful, vintage Japanese creative kokeshi doll handmade in Japan by master artisan Sansaku Sekiguchi (1925-2018). This wooden kokeshi is very chubby with a wide base that measures about 5" diameter. The doll is about 6 1/2" tall. The doll has a pensive expression with closed eyes and folded hands. The doll wears a red dress and has purple on its head. The doll has a rounded piece on top of its head with a multicolor geometric design. The artist's mark is on the underside. This doll is in very good pre-owned condition. There are a few small nicks/indentations on the purple part of the head (see last two photos). The underside has some marks and wear. This will be packed with care and shipped promptly.
