Isidro García (Ysidro García Piña) is known for his work as a jewelry designer and silversmith. He started producing silver jewelry marked Maricela in the early 1940s when he established his workshop in Taxco, Mexico. Many of the hand-crafted silver items made and marketed in his shop included his interpretation of spiral designs in the Modernist vein and more traditional cincel (a type of engraving that tends to be deeply carved in Mexican silver designs) decoration.
