This is an Imperial Carnival Glass salt or pepper shaker in the 'Grape and Cable' pattern.
Imperial Glass Company, located in Bellaire, Ohio, was a prominent manufacturer of glassware, particularly known for its Carnival Glass. Carnival Glass, popular from the early 1900s through the 1920s, is pressed glass with an iridescent metallic sheen applied to the surface. The 'Grape and Cable' pattern, featuring raised grapes and vines, was one of Imperial's signature designs.
Imperial's Carnival Glass pieces are highly sought after by collectors for their vibrant colors and intricate patterns. The company ceased production in 1984, making vintage pieces like this shaker increasingly valuable. The marigold color, a warm, golden hue, is a particularly desirable variation.
