Vintage Ho-o Bird Mythical Creature (Phoenix) Turquoise Ceramic Glazed Figure

The ho-o bird is a mythical creature from Chinese mythology that incorporates parts of several creatures such as the rooster, mandarin duck, peacock, crane, and pheasant. Often misidentified as a phoenix by Western consumers in the early twentieth century. This beautiful ceramic turquoise creature is gracefully standing with one talon raised on a magenta colored floral lotus vines. Made in the early 20th century, 1910-1950. Measures approximately 11 1/2 inches tall and is in beautiful vintage condition. There are no chips, scratches, cracks, repairs or crazing. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
