Base is 1/2" thick, and 5 3/4" in diameter Weighs 2 pounds, 8.2 oz. This good size basket could serve a number of functions. The crystal is thick, and the flowers etched on the front are deeply carved. The handle is firmly attached, and does not move. Good for nuts, small Christmas ornaments, trinkets, or perhaps on the table with small fruits like plums, kiwis, dates or apricots.
