Vintage Harvey Yellow Wicker & Wood Sewing Basket with Painted Floral Enamel Lid A lovely vintage Harvey brand sewing basket with built-in spool holders. These were a prized possession in the 1930-1940s to hold sewing necessities such as thread, needles, patterns, etc. The painted floral enamel lid is held on by two yellow cords. The exterior is yellow painted wicker and the interior has built-in wooden thread spool holders. The bottom interior has a floral appliqué sticker. Uses: As originally created, a sewing basket. I’ve used this over the decades as a memento box for photos and keepsakes as part of my decor. It fits in beautifully with Victorian, farmhouse, shabby chic, antique styles. I feel this would also make a unique gift basket! Condition: • Given the vintage age of the basket, it is in fairly good used (and definitely well-loved) condition. • The exterior wicker appears to be slightly dented in places but not broken or has any holes. • The enamel lid floral design is faded and chipped consistent with use and vintage condition. • There are 3 missing wooden dowels/spool holders and the far right dowel is loose but could be glued/permanently reattached. • The interior and exterior wood base has light staining consistent with age. Approximate dimensions: 10 inches in diameter and 5 1/4 inches in height.
