Beads are a sign of wealth and the bare breasts are a sign of sexual maturity. The back of the tag: HAND CRAFTED IN SOUTH AFRICA This is not a toy for decorative purposes only Symbol of fertility: Traditionally, the maternal grandmother gives the bride a fertility doll Lovingly crafted by hand in South Africa. Every collector's doll, so tall and striking. She wears individual, colorful clothing fully adorned with multi colored beads. Her ribbed gold choker is stunning. Her arms are made of hemp and her hands are beautifully beaded. Typical for the Ndebele (embroidered rag dolls) are the lush and colorful beadwork.
