Vintage Handmade Elsa Beskow Swedish Children’s Illustration Wood Decoupage Art

Beautiful One of a kind Vintage Elsa Beskow Swedish Children’s Illustration Oval Wood Decoupage Wall Art Elsa Beskow was a beloved Swedish author/illustrator of children’s books up into the early 50’s. This precious handmade pieces utilizes one of her earlier illustrations and I have added a photo of what the original looked like :) •Sweet and intricate illustration of a little girl in a blue dress walking through a forest with the a sentence that translates to appx " Out in the hills stands the Blåsippan" (a native blue flower) •Made by hand in Sweden •Made with beautiful sturdy dark brown wood, unsure of wood type. •Has metal hook on back for hanging •Measures appx 9.75” x 7.75” In overall good vintage conditon. Wood shows light signs of wear around the edges and some areas have lost the shine from coating. Decoupage coating seems slightly tacky and it seems something pressed up against it and caused a fine dotted imprint/residue that can only be seen when angled in the light. It does not affect the overall look of image. Illustration has some spots of discoloration but I just find it adds to its character. Please see photos.
