Vintage hand-stitched patchwork quilt measuring 87" x 69" (plus an additional 2" baby washcloth ruffle border) and weighing 58 oz. Designed in a cheerful diamond pattern of pastel blues, greens, and yellows, this quilt is shown on a queen-sized bed for scale and has a bright retro floral cotton print backing. The quilt is a wonderful example of 1960s–1970s home sewing and make-do quilting traditions. The quilted portion includes a synthetic top fabric with a soft touch, and the yellow pieces feature raised polka-dot texture. The ruffled edge was cleverly made using repurposed baby washcloths, adding charm and folk-art authenticity. The backing is a thin cotton fabric, floral-printed in blue, pink, and green. This quilt was entirely hand top-stitched, not precision-made but sewn with care, love, and creativity. The top fabric is worn thin in a few places, consistent with age and use, but the quilt remains clean and sturdy with no major stains or odors.
