Vintage Hand Painted Happy Clown Bookends

Adorable silly clown bookends! Unsure of the age as I just inherited them from my grandmother, but they’re at least 30+ years old. Found some similar ones online from Asia, but I believe these were originally from Germany (they have “Hamburg A.J.P.” carved on each of them). Excellent vintage condition Because they are hand painted, some of the paint is out of the lines and you can see the brushstrokes in certain parts. I think it gives them some character 😁 May have some dust from being in storage!
