I never DO, but I can.” Vintage Hallmark Shoebox Greetings coffee mug from the 1980s features a cartoon illustration of a woman with cursive text that reads, I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan. Made in Korea. A 1982 commercial for Enjoli Perfume featured a song with the memorable jingle, "I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan..." which was a modified version of lyrics from "I'm a Woman" made famous by singer Peggy Lee. The idiom "bring home the bacon" means to earn a living, be successful, or provide for a household, while the "fry it up in the pan" part adds the layer of household tasks.
