Bought this lovely vintage dress 4 years ago. Worn once. The top is velvet and the floral pattern is sheer(ish) and light. There were safety pins holding the straps on in the back when I bought it to shorten the straps but if you wanted to shorten the straps permanently it’s a quick and easy sewing job. Straps are attached without safety pins, just a little bit of a lower cut
