The collection commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Grimm Brothers' birth and was produced in the 1980s. Some plates were created specifically for the city of Hanau, the Grimm Brothers' birthplace. The plates are made of fine china, typically measuring 7 3/4 to 8 inches in diameter. Many plates are part of a limited edition, with production often limited to 100 firing days.
