A very rare matching set of antique flatware! Handles are made of butterscotch colored Bakelite and Lucite. Flatware part is stainless steel. The set combines two very slightly different designs with different collars between the flatware and the handle but overall they look the same. Handles are all of the same two materials. Both Bakelite and Lucite darken over time, depending on where it’s kept, so a few of these have handles that are a little darker. One spoon has a bowl that is worn. Pre-owned, sold as is. The blue silverware box is not original. Bakelite was the first synthetic plastic, used for a wide range of jewelry and household goods, manufactured in New Jersey from 1909 through the 1930s.
