Vintage Girls Christening/Party Dress with Matching Slip

This beautiful little outfit dates from 1925 and belonged to my mother. It consists of a simple slip with button closure on one shoulder, and a dress that buttons up the back. Both are made from very thin off-white handkerchief-weight cotton and have tiny pearl buttons. It would make an exceptional christening dress. All edges are finished with decorative edging or a scalloped pattern, along with eyelet holes. The dress ties with a pale pink satin ribbon and has pale pink floral accents on the front and back lacework, the shoulders and the hem. Bodice decorations also include very fine tucks and a ribbed pattern with the floral accents. The dress is in exceptional condition for being 100 years old, but it does have pale stains on the right front of the dress. These aren’t visible unless you really look for them. They won’t show when a child is wearing it. I’m sure the dress can be washed but I did not attempt to do so. I’m selling it as is. Dress Length overall: 19.5 in.
