Vintage GOLD ENCRUSTED LUSTERWARE / 2 Cups, 3 Saucers And Rare SALT & PEPPER SET

This stunning set of 2 cups, 3 saucers and a rare salt& pepper set is fresh from an estate sale and is the final offering from a matching tea set I was fortunate enough to acquire. I cannot find another example of this decoration anywhere on the internet so I cannot give you much information. The outside has a rough, pebbled surface encrusted with gold and hand-painted blue phoenix panels. The interior and underside are an iridescent white lusterware that reflects blue, purple, and green. Stylistically, the set strikes me as part of the 1930’s Art Deco movement - make of it what you will. The saucers measure 5 1/2 inches wide, the cups are 3 7/8 inches wide, and the salt & pepper shakers are 2 1/8 inches tall in a holder 2 3/4 inches tall.
