Vintage Fur Hat Band!

I picked this up while antiquing awhile back and it is most definitely vintage!! I say that because I have no idea how they used to attach these to your head! There is evidence of one way which is two small safety pins on each end which makes me think that they actually attached it to another hat. Other than that I would just use bobby pins. But maybe you are the one to get creative and find the BEST way to wear this vintage gem XO

aliford @bloklovelace according to my mom, those types of hats used long straight pins/needles to hold them in place, but I have no clue how you would use a pin, other than actually poking it into your head... Who knows maybe that's how they did it :) Does it kinda snug on to your head tho? I have other vintage hats that just seem to stay put as long as I I don't go whipping my hair.

bloklovelace @aliford That is so interesting!!!! Maybe the hair dos were so stiff back in the day- the pins just held there own!! Haha ha! Well, I will go pull it down (after coffee) before I give u a good answer to your question 💖

grace4d I have several hat pins that my grandma used to use for her various hats.. They are long, single pronged & have the sharp end covered with a metal round cylinder. They are usually 3"+ long. Sometimes they are used as lapel pins.. Dual purpose jewelry too as most were decorative... Great find! :) Dee
