Vintage French Ivory Pyralin Hand Mirror 1940s-50s Beveled Glass Mirror

Preowned vintage; GUC Lovely vintage hand mirror dating to the 40s-50s eras. It has an Art Deco shape and is crafted out of French Ivory (Celluloid) as noted by the mark that reads: Ivory Pyralin DuBarry. Pyralin, also known as "French Ivory" or "Ivory Pyralin," was popular in the early 20th century as a substitute for ivory, featuring striations that mimic bone or ivory. Measures 13.75” x 8”. The mirror inside has beveled edges reflecting the quality of the piece; these materials and beveled mirror glass would not have been used for run-of-the-mill pieces. This would have been part of a pricey and beloved vanity set. In very nice vintage condition with little wear.
