Vintage Feed Sack Prairie Bonnet Oversized Gardening Sunbonnet Neck Drape

Vintage Feed Sack Prairie Bonnet Oversized Gardening Sunbonnet with Neck Drape/Protector. It is a large, adult-size bonnet. It measures 18 inches around at the neck drape in back. Measured flat, it is 15 inches from brim to back of the bonnet and 12 inches from the top of the brim to the neck drape. The ties are 2 1/2 inches wide and 14 1/2 inches long. This is a two-piece bonnet - the brim attaches to the body with button holes and white "pearlized" plastic buttons. The poke brim is made with three layers of fabric and is top-stitched in rows. It is made of a floral Green, Blue, Purple and White Cotton Feed Sack material trimmed in a ruffled hem of plain white cotton or cotton blend. The neck ties are made of the same feed sack material. Estimating age at circa 1960s- 1970s ( some zig zag stitch hemming on the white gathered trim). It has been gently soaked but scattered brown spotting remains around the interior neckline and one neck tie. It is homemade and was definitely used - the fabric on the underside and kept out of the sun is much brighter. Condition: Fading to the exterior fabric, loose threads and some spots.
