Vintage Etched Brass Aftaba Pitcher Ewer with Hinged Lid / Handle India From my in-law's estate circa 1960s. Brass Aftaba are used by the people of India and the Middle East to save the water in these vessels. They are also used to serve tea. Commonly used in Northern India. It has an all-over etched floral design. The handle is scalloped along the top edge with etching down the facing edges. The underside is etched with "INDIA" This aftaba should be a lovely additon to your decor. It has not been polished. Measures 11 inches tall 5 1/2 inches wide from handle to spout base: 2 3/4 inches in diameter Condition: vintage; wear commensurate with age; the lid does not close tightly; bottom of handle is detached from the body of the pitcher but remains tight against the body; dent at base that is barely noticeable on a shelf or table top; from a non-smoking, pet-free environment Ask me about international shipping.
