Vintage Erzgebirge Nutcracker Chimney Sweep GDR Germany 11.5" Missing Brush

This is a vintage Erzgebirge wooden nutcracker, handcrafted in the German Democratic Republic (East Germany). It features a traditional chimney sweep design, complete with tall black top hat, black coat, painted blue eyes, mustache, and faux fur hair and beard. Maker: Erzgebirge region of Germany Marking: Original red/white paper label "Erzgebirge – Made in German Democratic Republic" Height: approx. 15" tall (with hat) Material: Hand-painted wood with faux fur trim Era: Produced before 1990 (GDR period) Origin: East Germany This is a fine example of East German craftsmanship and a great collectible nutcracker for holiday display or for collectors of Erzgebirge folk art. Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition. The chimney brush accessory is missing (ladder is intact). Paint shows light scuffs and wear. Fur beard and hair have some age-related dust.
