This 1930's teapot was made by the Edwin M. Knowles company. It is made with a semi vitreous finish. The main color is a light beige. The pattern is called Golden Wheat and was discontinued in 1939. The unusual shape was introduced in 1936. It is called Yorktown and was considered quite modern in its time. The pot is 5.25" or 13.3 cm tall. Edwin M Knowles took over the family business located in West Virginia in 1890 and later changed it's name to reflect his own. At the turn of the century the company was the largest pottery in the world.
