This is a wonderful mid-20th century brooch and screw back earrings set signed by Mexican silversmith AEM. Although the identity of AEM remains a mystery, this maker’s mark is associated with some big names involved in the evolution of the Mexican modernist jewelry movement, often found on pieces by Estela Popowski (1931-2008), Rancho Alegre, and many others.
These vintage beauties are a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship and creativity for which AEB is renowned. They feature an eye-catching, dimensional, abstract leaf design in solid sterling silver. Awesome looking, highly collectible set.
