Vintage Denim Trench Coat Y2K

Denim trench coats were particularly popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s (Y2K) as part of the wider denim-on-denim trend, and are currently trending again. This beautiful vintage denim coat in a darker denim is made by Sanyo Shokai. Sanyo Shokai, a Japanese apparel company, had a long-term licensing agreement with Burberry to design, manufacture, and sell specific Burberry-branded items in Japan, notably the popular Burberry Blue Label and Burberry Black Label lines. You can see that quality in this coat with its concealed button down front, beautiful lining, stitching details and extra replacement buttons sewn inside the coat. Sanyo Shokai did have a US subsidiary (Sanyo New York, established in 1978) and sells their own lines like SANYO COAT (known for trench coats). - Lined - Front button closure with hidden buttons - Made in Japan (1970's: Japanese denim and apparel became popular for their quality, often surpassing U.S. brands in craftsmanship.)
