Vintage cross-stitch sampler kit “Keepsake Needlework” by Jane Snead Samplers, formerly located in Philadelphia, PA. The company was in operation from the 1960’s through the 1990’s. This sampler design features the Pennsylvania State bird and flower, which are the Ruffed Grouse and the Mountain Laurel. The year 1787 is also noted, which is the year that Pennsylvania was admitted into The Union. Stitches featured in this sampler: Cross Stitch. Thread colors used: Red, white, blue, dark pink, dark green, brown, pink, green, beige, gold, light brown.. Kit number 549: Pennsylvania Framed Size: 11 x 14 inches. Each Sampler Kit contains: Sampler clearly printed on Imported Pure Linen; Complete and easy-to-follow directions including color chart; Sufficient Embroidery Floss to complete sampler; Mounting and Framing instructions. Made in U.S.A. Condition: New (old stock). The plastic bag and paper instruction sheet show some wear due to age. Each Jane Snead sampler is an original design and each pattern was silk-screened by hand onto 100% pure Belgian linen. The embroidery floss used for the stitching is J & P Coats Deluxe 100% pure cotton thread.
