Description: This is a Fragonard Courting Couple Porcelain Enamel Pin Brooch. This oval-shaped brooch features a detailed scene of a courting couple in the style of French Rococo artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard. The scene is set within an ornate gold-tone metal frame. The back of the brooch is plain gold-tone metal with a pin and clasp. The word "Fragonard" is written on the bottom right corner of the brooch.
Fragonard was a French painter and printmaker whose late Rococo manner was distinguished by remarkable facility, exuberance, and hedonism. One of the most representative artists of the French Rococo, Fragonard was an outstanding master of the revealed erotic. He is known for paintings like "The Swing" and "The Progress of Love".
