This is a multifaceted bag that is perfect for business or pleasure. Coach originally marketed and named this bag a portfolio but as time went on it's pretty clear Coach knew this was much more flexible than a simple portfolio. In its 1987 catalog listing Coach noted this could be used as a purse or a tote. Large totes are very popular among female attorneys for a carrying case in court or for conducting other business like depositions. The same holds true for other professionals. This style works well because it has enough room for plenty of books and files, the files are easily accessible and it has storage pouches for pens, pencils and cell phones.
