Vintage Cherry-Stained Bamboo Paper Fan w/ Metallic Gold Kanji

Paper fan with cherry-stained bamboo handle and metallic gold kanji design This is vintage, though I have no idea from when. If i had to guess I would say mid to late 90s because there was a lot of Asian influence in decor and a lot of that metallic brassy gold color, but I have no way to be sure. I think that this is Chinese, but the characters are extremely stylized so it it was hard for me to recognize any. If anyone knows for sure let me know if the comments. The paper is relatively thick so it has maintained a relative stiffness to it. Its not the type of fan you could snap (as in open and close it quickly, making a snapping noise). Its def meant to be decor.
