Description:
This is a vintage postcard of the Rotunda at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The front features a full-color image of the iconic building, with its red brick and white columns, surrounded by greenery and a stone wall. The back of the postcard provides a detailed description of the university's history, noting that it was founded by Thomas Jefferson in 1816 and that notable figures like James Monroe, James Madison, Edgar Allan Poe, and Woodrow Wilson were associated with it. The back is a divided back with "POST CARD" and a stamp box. It was published by The Asheville Post Card Co.
