Vintage Ceramic Saltbox

This is a vintage ceramic salt box, which is a container used to hold salt in a kitchen. Salt boxes were traditionally made from wood or ceramic and could be placed on a counter or mounted on a wall. The one in the image is a wall-hanging model, as indicated by the holes at the top for mounting. The design on the front includes the word "Salt" and a Greek key pattern along the bottom. Many vintage salt boxes were made in Japan.
