Large ceramic dog / pup figure marked 'Japan.' It is either a rough Collie Pup, or a Sheltie, and is approximately 9 3/4" tall. Mark dates it pre-1941. There is no makers mark visible, but it could be hidden under a felt pad. It might be Brinn's. It is in excellent condition for the age. There are several light creme white small spots...on the right front toward the bottom, several on the tips of paws, and one on the corner of nose. These are all depicted in closeup views of the item. They appear to be transfer perhaps, (or missed areas) in the painting process, as the glaze is smooth. One of them on the paw along bottom might be a chip - it feels slightly rough. The lighter areas on the paws above the nails are painted that way. This would be a lovely statement piece on a mantel, or atop a stack of books on a foyer table. Great gift for a dog lover. Shipping is a flat rate to 5 lbs on Poshmark. Items that will exceed the max will require purchase of additional postage label - amount pending weight. All items are professionally packed in a carton large enough to satisfy carrier requirements - yes, they do have requirements :), when assessing damage claims. Each stage of packaging process is digitally recorded.
