Vintage Brown Leather Cap Toe Orthopedic Boots Men's Size 8C Welt Arrow Hood

The "Arrow" heel plates were made by Cat's Paw / Arrow Heel Company, a U.S. maker of shoe components used by many small cobblers. The Goodyear welt construction, hand-nailed soles, and smooth leather lining are all mid-20th-century features. The cap-toe and wide arch reinforcement stitching were often found on orthopedic, medical, or custom-fit boots, not factory work boots. The inside stamp "8 C" indicates a men's size 8, narrow width. The other inner numbers ("3G2", etc.) are likely last and pattern codes used by a custom shoemaker, not a brand.
