This garment is a vintage Broadway theatre costume jacket by designer Brooks Van Horn & Sons.
The jacket is a "doublet," a type of fitted jacket worn in the 15th to 17th centuries. The style is often associated with the clothing of Renaissance and medieval periods and is commonly worn by performers at Renaissance Fairs, in theatrical productions, or as part of a costume. It is also similar to some vintage folk or military-style jackets.
The specific design, with its green body, tan corduroy sleeves, high collar, and distinctive buttons, is characteristic of a Landsknecht doublet or a similar historical-inspired garment.
I have several amazing vintage pieces from Broadway Theater storage. The items are handmade or up-cycled from prominent theatrical costume designers that supplied costumes for Broadway shows, circuses, cruises, and films for many years. Some items have actual actor names written in the garment. The history of these items is wild to think about!
It is not in perfect condition. Needs a cleaning, missing several buttons and a few stitches in some areas. Overall the condition is good for its age.
