Vintage Broadway Theater 1920s Showgirl Burlesque Performer Hot Pink Dress Shawl

I have several amazing vintage pieces from Broadway Theater storage. The items are handmade from prominent theatrical costume designers that supplied costumes for Broadway shows, circuses, cruises, and films for many years. Some items have actual actor names written in the garment. The history of these items is wild to think about! This piece is made by the designer Skip Stewart. It was made for a performer in a theatrical show inspired by Roaring 1920s showgirls, burlesque, or dance performers. The costume includes a hot pink, intricate sequined dress and a sheer, embroidered & sequined shawl. This type of dress is also commonly associated with vintage entertainment, such as cabaret or musical theater. The size is marked 8, but it is not. Based on measurements, it is a size 0. The zipper DOES work, it is just too tight on my mannequin. Measurements laying flat. Dress Chest 15" Waist 12.5” Length 43" Shawl Waist 26" Length 73" It is not in perfect condition. Needs a water soak. The lining coloring has bled. The rhinestones on the upper have patina. Material is heavy. Overall the condition is good for its age.
