Vintage Brass Primitive Candlestick Holder

This is a very interesting piece! I'm unsure of when this was made. There is lots of details on this candlestick holder and it is 6 inches tall. There is some tarnishing and a spot under where the candle sets that has a small melted hole in it, see last picture. I'm unsure if this was actually melted or just a flaw in the making of it.
