HOW TO AGE GRACEFULLY: Get you some heavy patina and a bit of verdigris. Add a bit of engraved decoration. *chef's kiss* Vintage? Definitely! Antique? Maybe. Vintage items are 20 to 100 years old; after 100 it's an antique. You could try to polish this, but I think it would ruin its charm. You buy it and want to make it shiny? Go on with your bad self! SOLD AS IS! As shown in the picture, it's not solid but it looks weighty! Fooled me! About 2.5 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter at the base. The hinge is firm and opens and closes quietly without wiggling. The insert may be cloudy due to age. Slight chip on one edge as shown. I feel the wear is appropriate for the apparent age of the piece.
